| Thallus whitish to grey or slightly greenish, thin, effuse, spreading; lobules and soredia absent. Apothecia common and dispersed, sessile, constricted at the base, 0.5–1.5 mm wide; disc vivid orange, plane; margin prominent, concolorous or paler on the outer side. Exciple stratified; cortical layer only partly penetrated by orange crystals; medullary layer colourless, containing few to many green algal cells 8–10 μm wide. Hymenium colourless, 120–150 μm thick. Hypothecium colourless to slightly brownish. Asci 90–120 × 25–45 μm. Ascospores 70–110 × 25–40 μm. Spore-borne microconidia occasionally present. Pycnidia not seen. CHEMISTRY: Thallus K+ yellow, C–, P–; apothecia K+ purple-red; apothecial sections, cortex of exciple and epihymenium K+ carmine; thallus containing atranorin, zeorin; apothecia containing parietin. |

| Endemic to south-eastern Qld and north-eastern N.S.W.; grows on bark and spreads over epiphytic bryophytes in wet-scelophyll forest and disturbed subtropical rainforest. | ||
